High School mountain biking is one of the fastest growing interscholastic sports in the country.
Our mission is to grow the sport of cycling while promoting active and healthy lifestyles for high school students. We want students to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful Ohio trails. At the same time, we hope to encourage more students to race bicycles.
In 2013 we successfully launched a competitive high school mountain bike racing series in Ohio. In 2015 our first High School Mountain Bike State Champions were awarded this title. Female-Gillian Wenger and Male-Jake Schauer.
who we are
The OIRL is a USA Cycling sanctioned Mountain Bike league for all Ohio High School students. 2013 was the inaugural year for the Ohio Interscholastic Racing League. All Ohio students are invited to race in District I, Northeast Ohio until a local district is established in your area. Our goal is to expand by creating leagues in the other five districts, Southeast, East, Central, Northwest and Southwest.
